College Readiness Optimizes Student Success
College Readiness: Graduating from high school with the skills needed to place into and be successful in transfer-level mathematics courses.
Our Goal: To make incoming SCC students college ready—providing them with a review of fundamental skills in mathematics that will assist their placement into transfer-level courses.
Who Should Register?
High school seniors who:
-
Expect to become SCC students during the fall semester after graduation
-
Want the opportunity to increase their chances of being placed into a college-level math class
-
Will have to take placement tests at SCC for math
-
Did not pass AP or IB tests for math
Why CROSSroads?
A U.S. Dept. of Ed study found that 58% of students who do not require remediation earn a bachelor’s degree, compared to 11% of students enrolled in remedial math.
At Santiago Canyon College, without any placement test preparation, 40% of students place into college math. BUT students who participate in the CROSSroads program are 72% likely to place into college-level math.
How do I Register?
